About DJ Misha

Biography

DJ Misha’s earliest musical memories are of playing with his dad’s vinyl records and reel-to-reel tapes: Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bee Gees. All of these groups were innovators in their own right, generating new kinds of music that were not restricted by the previous boundaries of rock ’n roll, pop, or disco. It was their experimentation with electronic sound, and with a song’s capacity to take its listener on an emotional journey, that catalyzed DJ Misha’s continued interest in the creative and transformative power of electronic dance music.

DJ Misha’s passion for deep house evolved into a way of life as an active purveyor of underground dance music. His style is fueled by organic elements of electronic music.  Sounds of jazz, funk and disco, which he incorporates into a seamless mix of powerful body movin’ beats.

DJ Misha is constantly searching for innovative ways to bring live dance music production and performance in to the night club environment.DJ Misha often performs with Jason Whitmore playing live saxophone accompaniment and is always searching for talented musicians for collaboration to expand of the possibilities of live electronic music performance.

DJ Misha’s ability to adapt his sound to different audiences has helped him make a name for himself at some of the best dance and lounge venues in San Diego. Currently DJ Misha is the resident DJ for Pacific San Diego Magazine promotional events and is also playing at Searsucker and Burlap. He held residencies at SPIN,Syrah Wine Parlor, FIREHOUSE PB, Envy at The Ivy Hotel, Jack’s in La Jolla, Harney’s Sushi in Old Town. In 2008 he became the preferred dj for San Diego Euro Circle events, and was asked to play major fundraising events for the San Diego City Ballet and Rady Childrens Hospital. DJ Misha has also played along side world renowned DJ’s including Mark Farina, Kaskade, Olivier Desmet, The ShapeShifters, Inland Knights in San Diego nightclubs.
